Certificate of conformance

- (a) The director shall accept a certificate of conformance issued by the NIST or the National Conference of Weights and Measures under the National Type Evaluation Program described in the NIST Handbook 130, 2018 Edition, dated November 2017, Uniform Laws and Regulations in the Areas of Legal Metrology and Engine Fuel Quality, adopted by reference, as proof of compliance with the specifications and tolerances for weighing and measuring devices as prescribed in the NIST Handbook 44, adopted by reference in AS 45.75.050(d) and 17 AAC 90.049.
- (b) The director will require a certificate of conformance as described in (a) of this section before a commercial or law enforcement weighing or measuring device can be introduced into use in the state.
