1. (a) The board will issue a certification approving a person as a trainee appraiser to an applicant who meets the requirements of 12 AAC 70.935 and this section.

2. (b) An applicant for certification under this section must

   1. (1) submit a completed application, on a form provided by the department; the completed application must include

      1. (A) the personal identification information requested on the form; and

      2. (B) proof that the applicant has, within the five-year period before the date of submission of the trainee appraiser application, successfully completed and passed

         1. (i) 83 classroom hours of instruction that meet the requirements in 12 AAC 70.115(f) and 12 AAC 70.140(a); and
         2. (ii) the required courses that are specifically oriented to the requirements and responsibilities of supervisory appraisers and trainee appraisers and comply with the specifications for course content established by the Appraiser Qualifications Board of The Appraisal Foundation; and
   2. (2) pay any fees required in 12 AAC 02.370.

3. (c) To renew a certification as a real estate appraiser trainee, the application must

   1. (1) submit an application for renewal on a form provided by the department; and
   2. (2) provide evidence of satisfactory completion of the applicable continuing education requirements set out under 12 AAC 70.220.
