The department will register as a specialty contractor, with a specialty trade designation of "mechanical, exempt" a person doing plumbing, heating, and other mechanical work that is exempt from the supervision of a mechanical administrator under AS 08.40.390(b)(1) or (b)(2). A person acting in this capacity is subject to all applicable requirements of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development under AS 18.62.
