Privately owned state monuments or historic sites are eligible for funding under the Alaska Landmark Grant Program if
- (1) the property is entered in the National Register of Historic Places;
- (2) written consent of the owner has been received for nomination to the Alaska Landmark list;
- (3) the Historic Sites Advisory Committee has recommended the governor declare by public order the property be officially designated a landmark;
- (4) the governor has declared by public order the particular property to be an Alaska Landmark; and
- (5) the owner agrees in writing that the property will be kept accessible to the general public.
