On the night of May 3, 1919, Lucinda Broad-well, of Barre, was murdered by strangulation, and her unclad body was found the next morning in a garden just off from Main Street in that city. The respondent was indicted and tried for the crime, and was convicted of murder of the second degree. He seasonably filed exceptions, and brings his case here for review.
