Appeal from an order of the Supreme Court at Special Term (Ford, J.), entered August 25, 1981 in Clinton County, which granted defendants’ motion for summary judgment. In 1974, plaintiff, a member of Great Britain’s Royal College of Physicians, answered an advertisement in the London Times by which defendant'Champlain Valley-Physicians Hospital Medical Center (Center), announced it was seeking emergency room physicians. Defendant Read, then president of the Center, interviewed plaintiff in London and on November 22, 1974, he wrote plaintiff offering him a position. In part, this letter stated, “[tjhere will be no problem with your getting a two-year license immediately by waiver and your Royal College status provides virtual assurance that your permanent license will be granted on waiver”.
