—In an action to recover a real estate brokerage commission, the plaintiff appeals from an order of the Supreme Court, Nassau County (Davis, J.), entered July 5, 2002, which granted that branch of the motion of the defendant Brigitte Green Realty Corp. which was to dismiss the complaint for failure to state a cause of action.

Nevertheless, we affirm the order dismissing the complaint, on other grounds. The plaintiff had no cause of action against the sellers, because it had no contract, express or implied, with them. Rather, the sellers’ sole contract was with the listing broker. The plaintiff’s claim for compensation for its efforts, therefore, does not lie against the sellers (see Matherson & Assoc, v Calderone,
