On the afternoon of March 8, 2011, a sports utility vehicle driven by the plaintiff and an 18-wheel tractor-trailer driven by the defendant Miguel A. Demata were stopped side-by-side at a red light in designated left turn lanes at an intersection in the Town of Oyster Bay.
