Lead Opinion

In re D.A.; — Other; Applying for Writ of Certiorari and/or Review, Parish of Lafayette, 15th Judicial District Court Div. D, Nos. JC 1997-0034 A&B, JC 1999-0711; to the Court of Appeal, Third Circuit, No. 01-0761.

Dissenting Opinion

JOHNSON, J.,

would grant with reasons.

I would grant the writ application to consider whether the state failed in its obligation to provide resources which would have resulted in reunification of this family.

I consider the state policy of revoking probation for failure to pay fees reprehensible. Particularly, since Louisiana does so little to provide training or create employment opportunities for ex-offenders.
