Since the defendants failed to meet their prima facie burden, the Supreme Court should have denied their motion for summary judgment, and it is unnecessary to determine whether the papers submitted by the plaintiffs in opposition were sufficient to raise a triable issue of fact (see Trivedi v Vural, 90 AD3d at 1032; Reynolds v Wai Sang Leung, 78 AD3d at 920).
