It is of the greatest importance to enforce this rule in cases where cars are propelled, as in this instance, by agencies capable of attaining a speed of ten or twelve miles an hour. If the jury inferred from the evidence before them that by ordinary care the gripman could have seen the plaintiff in time to avoid running over her, it was perfectly competent for them to make that deduction from the evidence.
